Richard "Jeff" Jeffers

Jeff Jeffers owns Garth’s Auctioneers & Appraisers of Delaware, Ohio, the Midwest’s oldest premier auction house with annual revenue approaching $10 million dollars per year. Jeff attended the Missouri Auction School in 1997, where he was recently appointed as an instructor, and became a member of the Certified Appraisers Guild of America in 1999. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University. 

 

As CEO and Principal Auctioneer, Jeff oversees all aspects of appraisal and auction services at Garth’s, and serves as the lead consignment specialist, consulting with key clients to bring their collections to the national and international marketplace. 

 

Jeff is an active member of the community, serving on the Board of Trustees of Columbus Academy. Additionally, he has lent his auction and appraisal expertise to many charitable organizations over the years, helping to raise over six million dollars for various causes including: March of Dimes Foundation, Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Recreation Unlimited, American Cancer Society, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Ohio Historical Society, Western Reserve Historical Society, Hudson Montessori School, Kids’n’Kamp, Columbus Academy, Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation, and Good Hope School and the St. Croix Landmarks Society, both on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. 

 

In addition, Jeff has contributed to many local, national and trade publications including recurring columns in Sophisticated Living, Ohio Magazine, and Columbus Business First as well as trade-related articles in Maine Antiques Digest and House Beautiful, among others. He appears frequently on radio and talk shows to comment on the antiques industry and current trends; and has conducted clinics and courses for many historical societies and museums, including the distinguished Chautauqua Institution in New York State.

Deborah Shub was the owner of Vintage Jewels, one of America’s leading antique jewelry businesses for 18 years. As a jewelry expert, appraiser and graduate gemologist, she assisted several generations of customers acquire and sell antique and estate jewelry from around the world. Deborah is excited to bring that experience to the Garth's team as well as our clients.

Before joining the Garth's team, Deborah spent 13 years as a non-profit executive with the March of Dimes and then with the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.
