“The Ohio Valley has not only a local history worthy of study, a rich heritage to its people,
but also that it has been an independent and powerful force in shaping the development of a nation.”
~ Frederick Jackson Turner
Since Garth’s was founded over 60 years ago, an interest and enthusiasm for the history and material culture of the Ohio Valley has been a natural byproduct of handling the sheer volume of objects we sell from this region each year. In fact, objects from throughout Ohio and the surrounding states are found in nearly every auction at Garth’s: pottery, porcelain, glass, works of art, firearms, furniture - the list is long. But, once each year, we endeavor to assemble an auction session that both highlights and celebrates the important historical and cultural heritage of the Ohio River Valley.
In 2016, we celebrate 10 years of The Ohio Valley Auction. We hope you’ll join us.
