Garth’s Auctions has been a national force in the world of antiques and fine art since it’s founding by Garth Oberlander in the early 1950’s. Garth was an antiques dealer for years before he began conducting auctions in the ca. 1810 historic barn on the Delaware, Ohio property, where auctions continue today. After several decades in the business, Garth tripled the staff in 1967 -- from one to three -- when he enlisted Tom and Carolyn Porter to help him grow his auction and appraisal services.

When Garth died in 1973, the Porters completed the purchase of the auction house and carried on his legacy through the 1980’s when the firm realized record prices in the industry, proving to those who considered New York to be the center of the auction world that the fine art and antiques market was alive and well in the Midwest.

Jeff and Amelia Jeffers joined the Porters in the mid-1990’s as the next generation of Garth’s ownership. Under the Jeffers’ leadership, the firm has realized continued success and recognition at the national and international level, handling high profile merchandise, providing top-notch marketing and advancing customer service on both technical and personal levels.

Today, Jeff and Amelia, along with a dedicated team of professionals (including the Porters) all work together to preserve the simple founding principles upon which Garth Oberlander began his business over fifty ago: commitments to customer service, honesty and integrity.
