SET FOUR OF CHIPPENDALE SIDE CHAIRS. English or American, late 18th century, mahogany. Cabriole legs with ball and claw feet, slip seats upholstered in salmon damask, pierced splat and shaped crest with carving. Imperfections. 17 1/2"h. seat 40"h. overall.

Old repairs including pieced repairs. Chair 1- Has a split at the top of splat. One rear foot ended out and a pieced repair on stretcher. Cahir 2 - Splits on the crest and a glued repair on one upright (stile). Chair 3 - Splits on the crest and a glued repair on one upright (stile). Chair 4 - Repairs on splat including piecing, gluing and reinforcement. Splits on the crest. Missing rear bracket the other has a pieced repair and a repair to one front foot.
